In very good attic condition. 100% authentic. Circa 1805. 38 inch overall length. Very good brass hilt bearing an untouched age patina. Good wood grip retaining its original wiring and showing some losses to the original leather wrapping (see photos). Very good 32 ½ inch blade showing a pleasing age patina throughout with some surface staining. Very nice engraved décor on both sides with some of the original gilt finish remaining. Hard to read maker markings under languets. In its very good original brass mounted steel scabbard showing a brown age patina throughout. An attractive and legendary French 1st Empire officer’s saber!
