CIVIL WAR MODEL 1861 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE MUSKET : 

In good general condition. 56 inch overall length. 58 caliber. 40 inch barrel. Very good stock showing some handling marks throughout and a couple of solid stress cracks in the lock areas (no loose wood). Light inspector cartouche on left wrist. Excellent action. Fine markings on lock plate with an 1864 date. Faint markings on barrel (V P and Eagle). Good to very good metal bearing a light patina throughout with areas of oxidation, especially at breech. Good bore with oxidation and good rifling. Original ramrod. A classic Civil War musket!
