SCARCE US MODEL 1842 HARPERS FERRY PERCUSSION MUSKET: 

In very good original condition. 42 inch barrel with a smooth bore. 69 caliber . Lightly “VP” and eaglehead marked at breech. Missing the front sling swivel. Very good metal bearing a pleasing smooth age patina throughout. Very good lock plate markings. 1850 dated. Very good stock showing some normal handling marks. No cracks. Missing chip by the buttplate (see photos). Excellent action. Original ramrod. A scarce and desirable US musket!
