SCARCE US SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR MODEL 1879 CARBINE: 

In very good general condition. 45-70 caliber. 22 inch barrel. Very good metal bearing a pleasing age patina throughout. One area with some oxidation on the left side of the barrel next to the rear-sight. Very good markings. Serial number 240975. Very good stock with light handling marks and a faint “P Ball” stamp. No visible inspector cartouche. Excellent action and very good plus bore with nice rifling. A scarce and desirable US carbine!
