MEXICAN SMITH & WESSON TYPE No3 44 RUSSIAN REVOLVER: 

In very good general condition. 44 Russian caliber. 5 inch barrel. Matching serial numbers. Frame’s top stamped with a number 1629 (rack or soldier’s number?). RM (Republic of Mexico) marked with some kind of a crest on left side of the barrel (see photos). No other markings. No lanyard ring. Very good metal retaining a good amount of its nickel finish on barrel with the balance being a pleasing age patina. Very good original walnut grips. Good action with loose locking. Good bore with very good rifling. One small expansion ring past the chamber area. A rare and very interesting S&W type revolver !
